Description
Here we have a scarce 1960 Canadian Amateur Basketball Association Official Rules Book. It give a full rundown of all the rules of basketball for 1959-1960 as laid out by the National Basketball Committee of the United States and Canada. It also provides lists of the provincial champions for 1959 and a list of the Canadian Senior Champions both men and women from 1922-1959. My favourite part in this booklet are the Advertisements. The highlight being the Converse Chuck Taylor Basketball Shoes Ad. It has 48 pages (24 double sided) not including the front and back covers The front cover features Glen Pettinger who played for the 1952 Mens Canadian Olympic Basketball Team that went to HelsinkiIt measures 5 inches by 6 ¾ inches approximately. It has a Sportings good store stamp on the front cover. I cant make out the name of the Store but the address is 929 Granville St. Vancouver. It has a few small corner bends on the interior pages, and a bit of wear to the cover corners, but over all it display very nicely. I have scanned the front and back covers and took some photographs of some of the interior pages for you to be able to judge condition for yourself.
Don’t miss out on this great pieces of early Canadian Basketball History.
