This is the yearbook which pictures
Joe DiMaggio
as a
Staff Sergeant
in the 414th
Air Base Squadron during WWII (1944).
This book is very difficult to find and the condition of this
particular copy is amazing.
There is a bit of age toning on the edges of the end papers
and a slight bit on the
pages, but they are in superb shape with no
writing, no torn or missing pages, no
cutouts and original gloss still present.
The cover has VERY mild shelf wear to the
corners and top and bottom of spine, but again is in great shape.
There was some
kind of label that was
probably at the top and left of the front cover and it has left the
slightest residue of
glossiness for a small area and is barely noticeable.
I would rate
this an 8.5-9
on a scale of 10.
This is as fine a condition book as you will every
find!!
If you are a Joe DiMaggio (OR Yankee) collector, this is a very difficult and
desirable
collectible that fills in his service years from 1943 till he returned
in late 1945 so he
could play the 1946 season for the New York Yankees.
