Bulova had one of the finest schools of Watchmaking in America. The school was founded in 1945 by Arde Bulova, Chairman of the Board of Bulova Watch Co., who “wished to repay, in some small measure, the sacrifice and service of returning disabled veterans”. No one ever graduated from the Bulova School of Watchmaking without already having a job waiting for them. The students were in such demand, that they could pick whatever part of the country in which they wanted to live and have a choice of jobs. This is the 11 training units used by the students. This training program starts with a study of staking the balance staff, Truing the Balance Wheel, work with the graver, making a balance staff, polishing pivots, poising a balance, hairspring work, etc. This is the finest training program we have ever seen. We highly recommend this book.
